So, ¡Mucho Gusto! Meet our team below and read a bit more about us.
I’m Esther and I’m originally from Ghent in Belgium. I moved here for a marketing job but quickly realised I came here for the city I loved. I feel now happier than ever working as a guide and manager of Mucho Gusto Tours. I am a people person and very passionate about our beautiful city Barcelona. Please get in touch with me for any question you may have, I am sure we can solve it together!
Hola, I am Gertru from Holland. After graduating in Tourism and as a Spanish Teacher, it wasn’t such a strange choice to move to Spain. I love the nice climate, the diversity, the culture and history of the city. And I have one more passion: biking! I love being out on the streets. Being a guide is the most perfect job in the world. Let me show you the most beautiful parts of our city and of course I’ll give you lots of tips and ideas for nice restaurants and bars!
Hi, my name is Mathieu and I’m from Belgium, Ghent. 9 years ago, I helped a friend transporting his sailing boat from Bretagne to Barcelona… and I decided to stay here. I still don’t regret my decision. I love this city, her history and her unique vibe. Back in Belgium I studied architecture for 2 years and completed a bachelor furniture making. I have always been interested in architecture. My job as a tour guide allows me to share my interests and passion with you and keep learning every day.
Hi, I’m Remco and I have a little secret for you. I have a relationship with two different women. One is called Berta, and born and raised in Barcelona. My second girlfriend is called Barna and looks like a rock, but has a big heart. Both slowly reveal their secrets to me. Fortunately they like each other. I look forward to sharing with you the best kept secrets of Barna during your trip.
My name is Wannes and until 2015 I lived in my hometown Bruges. Everything changed for me when I met a Spanish girl on a night out in Bruges. I moved shortly after and got a beautiful daughter Lia, here in Barcelona. I quickly realised that there is always something to discover in this city. I feel very lucky living between the mountains and the sea. Giving a private tour in beautiful Barcelona is the perfect way to share all this with you.
Hi, my name is Marloes. I am from Holland but grew up here in Barcelona. Growing up between these two cultures allowed me to have the best of both worlds! I feel at home here. I love Barcelona’s culture, the way of living and of course the food. I keep biking and walking through the city and this way I discover new places. I follow the latest blogs, especially to discover the new restaurants. I’d like to share all of that with you on my tours.
Hi, I’m Marnix. I am 25 and the youngest guide of the whole team. I love being a tour guide. My passion is street art and writing poetry myself. Let me take you to the best street art spots in Barcelona and show you the great creative vibe we have here. I love giving private tours as I can really focus on connecting with you as a client and make the tour as personal as possible.
Hi, my name is Charley. Since November 2016 I’ve been wandering the streets of Barcelona. Captured by it’s history and contradictions Barcelona stole my heart. Join me on a private tour and I’ll show you my favourite squares and restaurants. Let your mouths water as we pass by the tapas bars in El Born. Bringing the kids? No problem I know a place or two for good churros or ice-cream 😉 Or do you prefer to travel through time as we pass through the historical streets of El Gótico? No problem, just let me know what you prefer!
We started off in 2013 as a Dutch speaking company. We became a team of passionate guides offering private experiences in and near Barcelona.
We all moved out of our home countries because we adore Barcelona.
We love taking you to the hidden gems and showing you are favorite places in town, but most important : we go for the experience that makes you happy.
Our founder Ingeborg lives now in the States and tour guide Esther is running the company since 2018.
Please reach out to Esther for any question you have about the guides or the tours.
What does “¡Mucho Gusto!” mean?
Nice to meet you. We really look forward to meeting you in person and creating a connection during the tour. Each tour is a unique, fun and private experience.
What does “¡Con Mucho Gusto!” mean?
What does “Gusto” mean?
Taste! The guides have one Gusto in common: we all love the Mediterranean Food in Barcelona. Paella, fish and tapas… Nos gustan mucho. We can’t wait to send you to the best places in town.
There’s always something new and exciting around every corner.
Our first company name was a Dutch translation of one of the best Catalan Tapas : bread with tomato. A beautiful name but not many people could pronounce Brood en Tomaat in the city. We still love the Spanish tomatoes though and invite you to try the dish when in Barcelona! PS : Put some delicious Jamon Iberico on your bread and you will understand what we mean!
Let us know before you travel which places you definitely want to see. We will happily create a customised tour without charging you extra for it.
Since the start in 2013 we work closely together with Ramiro Sobral. He owns the bike shop El Ciclo, and is a true artist, making exceptional bike art.
We love his kind approach, his quality bikes and Dorotea, the dog that’s always around! We have higher bikes for the taller clients (our Dutch origin again!) and gladly adjust each bike before the tour until it feels comfortable. Also, child seats and helmets are there.
